About this Visa
This visa is for international students who want to study in Argentina. It allows you to live there legally while you complete a university degree or a study abroad program. There are two main types: one for formal university degrees and one for short courses like language learning. If you study a full university degree ("Formal Student"), you can work legally part-time. If you only take short courses ("Informal Student"), you generally cannot work. You can bring your spouse and children with you, but they may need their own visas. Important Update (2025): You should apply for this visa before you travel to Argentina. New rules make it very risky to enter as a tourist and try to change your visa later. You might be denied entry at the airport if you do this.
