About this Visa
The National Visa D lets you work in Austria for 6 months or longer. You need it if you are not from the European Union and want an employment job. With this visa, you get permission to work, bring your family, and eventually settle permanently in Austria. This visa is different because it is the official way non-EU workers enter Austria legally. Without it, you cannot work there. Once you find a job, you can upgrade to a permanent residence card and eventually become a citizen.
