About this Visa
This permit lets you work as your own boss in Austria. It's for people from outside Europe who want to start or run a business there. You get the right to work independently and live in Austria while your business operates. The main benefit is freedom—you're self-employed, not an employee. You can run your own business without restrictions. You can also bring your family with you. This visa is different from employee work permits because you control your own income and business decisions.

Eligibility Criteria
- You must be from outside the EU (third-country national)
- No criminal record
- Must have real business lined up (6+ month contract minimum)
- Must prove you have enough money
- Must get health insurance
- Age: No minimum, but younger applicants score better points
- German language: A1 level preferred (basic level)
Financial Requirement
You must prove you can support yourself: Single person: €1,274/month; Married couple: €2,010/month; Each child: Add €197/month. Show bank statements, savings, or income to prove this.
