About this Visa
This visa lets you start a business or work for yourself in Austria. You invest at least €100,000 and prove your business helps Austria's economy. After 2 years, you can get a permanent settlement permit. The visa has two stages. First, you get a Red-White-Red Card for 2 years. Then you can get a Settlement Permit for 3 years. After 5 more years total, you can stay permanently. After 10 years total, you can become an Austrian citizen. This is for skilled workers and entrepreneurs from outside Europe. You get full self-employment rights. Your family can come with you and work too.

Eligibility & Requirements
Eligibility Criteria
- Must be 18 or older
- Must speak basic German (A1 level)
- No serious criminal record
- Must have health insurance
- Must have qualifications for your business type
- Your business must benefit Austria
- Cannot be banned from Austria
- Must have €1,274/month for living costs (one person)
Financial Requirement
Invest at least €100,000 ($117,410) into an Austrian bank account. Show your business will create jobs, bring technology, or help your region grow.
