About this Visa
This permanent visa lets parents move to Australia to live with their adult children permanently. Your child in Australia sponsors you. You get to stay forever, work anywhere, and access free healthcare. This visa is only for parents. It takes about 14-15 years to process because many people apply and there's a waiting list. Many other countries' visas are much faster.

Eligibility & Requirements
Eligibility Criteria
- Must be sponsored by your adult child who lives in Australia
- Your child must be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or eligible New Zealand citizen
- Your child must have lived in Australia for at least 2 years
- At least 50% of your children must live in Australia as citizens or permanent residents OR more children in Australia than any other single country
- Must pass a health check (no serious diseases)
- Must have no serious criminal history
- If not retired, must promise not to use government welfare for 2 years
Financial Requirement
Your sponsoring child must earn at least AUD 38,000-115,000+ per year (varies by family size). You must promise not to use government welfare for 2 years.
