About this Visa
This visa allows current or former Australian permanent residents (PR) to travel freely. If the 5-year travel part of your original PR visa expires, you need this to re-enter Australia. Without it, you could lose your permanent resident status if you leave the country. It lets you leave and return to Australia as many times as you want while the visa is valid. It also proves you are still a permanent resident. This is critical if you want to work, live, or study in Australia after traveling overseas.
