About this Visa

This visa lets you work in Australia if an Australian employer sponsors you. You need a job offer first—you can't apply on your own. The employer must prove they can't find an Australian worker for the job. The visa lets you stay and work for 2-4 years. You can bring your spouse and children with you. After 2 years of work, you can apply for permanent residency. This visa replaced the old TSS (Temporary Skill Shortage) visa in December 2024. It's now called the Skills in Demand (SID) visa, but it's the same subclass 482.
