About this Visa
The Atlantic Immigration Program lets skilled workers move to Canada permanently. You need a job offer from an employer in one of four Atlantic provinces: Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, or Newfoundland and Labrador. The province approves you, and you get permanent residence. You can stay forever and bring your family. It's different because an employer directly sponsors you. You don't compete with thousands of other applicants. If your employer and province want you, you have a strong chance of approval. Important: The program is active federally, but availability changed in 2025. New Brunswick is closed until 2026. Prince Edward Island only accepts healthcare, construction, and manufacturing workers. Newfoundland uses a new application process.

Eligibility & Requirements
Eligibility Criteria
- Age 18 or older
- High school diploma or equivalent education
- 1 year full-time work experience in last 5 years
- English (IELTS 4.5+) or French (Level 4 or higher)
- Valid full-time job offer from approved Canadian employer
- Required savings (see Financial Requirement section)
- Pass medical exam
- No criminal record
- Provincial endorsement from your province
Financial Requirement
Must prove savings: 1 person CAD $3,815; 2 people CAD $4,750; 3 people CAD $5,840; 4 people CAD $7,090; add CAD $1,000 per additional person. Exception: Not required if already working in Canada on valid work permit.
