About this Visa
Canada's main program to bring skilled workers from other countries. You become a permanent resident, not a temporary visitor. You can eventually become a Canadian citizen. Who is it for? Skilled workers with good English or French, work experience, and education. You must score high enough on Canada's points system. Eligibility & Requirements
Eligibility Criteria
- Must have English or French Level 7 (upper-intermediate). Official test required: IELTS, CELPIP, TEF, or TCF Canada
- Must have at least 1 year work experience in last 10 years in skilled job (professional, technical, or trade)
- Must have high school diploma or university degree with official verification if from another country
- Must pass police check with no criminal record
- Must pass medical exam with good health
- Must score 67+ points on Canada's skill assessment test
- Must work in qualified occupation on Canada's skilled list (TEER 0, 1, 2, or 3)
- Must be age 18 or older
- Cannot have lied on application
- Cannot pose security risk to Canada
Financial Requirement
Must have money in bank account: 1 person $15,263 CAD, 2 people $19,001 CAD, 4 people $28,362 CAD. Add $4,112 per extra person. Money must be in your bank. Cannot be borrowed.
