About this Visa
The Temporary Foreign Worker Program lets Canadian employers hire foreign workers when they cannot find Canadians for the job. You need a job offer from a Canadian employer. The employer must first get government approval (called an LMIA) proving they tried to find Canadian workers but could not. You work for one employer only. You must leave Canada when your visa ends. This visa does not automatically lead to permanent residency, but it helps your chances later. Current Status: Active and accepting applications (December 2025).
