About this Visa
This visa lets you live in Switzerland for more than 90 days to take language classes. You need this if you want to study German, French, Italian, or English at a Swiss language school for longer than three months. The visa also covers university studies and professional training. It's the main way non-European people can stay in Switzerland to study full-time. You can work part-time while studying. You get Swiss healthcare and can travel around Europe. After 10 years here, you can get permanent residency. After 12 years, you can apply for Swiss citizenship.

Eligibility Criteria
- Must have Swiss school acceptance letter
- Must have $25,000+ USD saved
- Must have valid health insurance
- Must have no serious criminal record
- Must not have violated visa rules before
- Must plan to actually study (not just live there)
Financial Requirement
You need $25,000 USD (CHF 20,000) saved for one year. OR you can show $3,150/month income (CHF 2,500). Money must be in a Swiss bank account in your name before arrival.
