About this Visa
The M visa lets you travel to China for business activities. You can meet clients, visit factories, attend trade shows, and sign contracts. You cannot work or get paid in China with this visa. This visa is for short business trips. It's not for people who want to work or live in China long-term. The main thing that makes it special is that you don't need to be hired by a Chinese company—you can visit any business partner. The visa is active and embassies are accepting applications. As of February 2025, Shanghai, Jiangsu, and Liaoning provinces offer 5-year M visas with 180-day stays, which is better than the standard visa.
