About this Visa
This visa is for people in a long-term relationship with a Colombian citizen. You need proof that you've lived together legally for over 1 year. It lets you stay and work in Colombia. This is for unmarried couples who live together (de facto unions), not married couples. It's a family visa based on your relationship, not work or business. You can work any legal job without asking permission first. You can live with your Colombian partner and bring children under 25. After 5 years, you can get permanent resident status and eventually become a Colombian citizen. This is different from the married spouse visa (M Cónyuge), which lasts 3 years. This permanent partner visa lasts only 1 year and must be renewed yearly.
