About this Visa
This visa lets you join a family member who lives in Germany. Your family member must have a job or legal residency there. You can bring a spouse, children, or (if your family member is a skilled worker) your parents. Once you arrive, you can work, study, and live permanently. You have full rights just like German residents do. This is not a work visa or student visa. It's only for families joining relatives in Germany.

Eligibility Criteria

- Legal marriage or registered civil partnership
- Family member in Germany must have job or residence permit
- Stable monthly income (€1,500-€3,400+)
- No serious criminal record
- No security concerns
- Relationship must be genuine (not forced or marriage of convenience)
- Health insurance available
- Spouse needs A1 German language certificate
- Children under 18 must be unmarried
- Parents only eligible if family member is skilled worker (arrived after March 1, 2024)
Financial Requirement
Family member in Germany must earn €1,500-€3,400+ per month depending on family size, with proof from last 3 payslips, tax returns, and bank statements.
