About this Visa
This visa lets you move to Denmark to live with your boyfriend, girlfriend, or partner who already lives there. You can work, study, and eventually become a permanent resident or citizen. This is a family visa, not a work or study visa. It is for couples who want to reunify and live together in Denmark.

Eligibility & Requirements
Eligibility Criteria
- Age: Both must be at least 24 years old
- Genuine relationship: Must be voluntary, not forced
- Cohabitation: 18 months continuous with no breaks
- Language requirement: Pass A1 within 6 months, A2 within 9 months of approval
- Partner must have permanent home in Denmark with enough space
- Partner must earn enough to support you
- Partner must not have received welfare in last 3 years
- Partner must pass Danish language test or have 5+ years work experience with daily Danish communication
- No domestic violence or assault history for partner
- Must live in approved neighborhoods (not restricted areas)
Financial Requirement
Your partner must have $9,275 USD available as a financial guarantee. This amount can be reduced as you pass Danish language tests: After A1 test, reduced by $1,856 USD; After A2 test, reduced by another $928 USD; After completing full Danish language course, reduced by another $928 USD.
