About this Visa

The Amparo Visa is a permanent residency permit for anyone married to an Ecuadorian citizen. It is also available if you have a legally recognized "common-law" partnership with an Ecuadorian. This visa lets you live, work, and study in Ecuador indefinitely. You get the same rights as a citizen to work and own property. Unlike other visas, you do not need to be a temporary resident first. You can get permanent status immediately.

Eligibility Criteria

Financial Requirement

You must show proof of at least $470 USD per month in income or savings. Alternatively, your Ecuadorian spouse can sign a legal letter stating they will pay for your expenses.
