About this Visa

The EU Blue Card is a work permit for skilled workers from outside Europe who want to live and work in Estonia. You need a good job offer with a high enough salary, or advanced education in a field that Estonia needs. Your spouse can work immediately without needing a separate permit. You can move around Europe freely. After 5 years, you become a permanent resident. After 8 years, you can become an Estonian citizen. What makes it special compared to other work visas: It's specifically designed for highly skilled people, which means you get stronger legal protection and easier family reunification rules than regular workers.
