About this Visa
This visa lets non-EU citizens live and work in Spain as self-employed or freelance workers. You're your own boss—you don't need an employer to sponsor you. If you want to start a business or work for yourself in Spain, this is the visa you need. The visa is currently active and accepting applications. You can work in almost any field, though some jobs (like law or medicine) need special permits. You can also bring your spouse and children after one year. This visa is different from other Spanish visas because the focus is on your business idea and finances, not an employer. The government wants to see that your business will actually work and that you have enough money to support yourself.

- Be at least 16 years old
- NOT be a citizen of EU or EEA countries
- Have no criminal conviction in the last 5 years
- Be in good health (no serious disease)
- Have professional skills or experience related to your business
- Have enough money to support yourself and your business
- Not be currently living illegally in Spain
- Be applying from your home country (not from inside Spain)
Financial Requirement
Approximately €600-€1,000 per month in savings or income to support yourself. For family members, add €300-€900 per person. Must show bank statements proving this money exists.
