About this Visa
This visa lets you join your married spouse, civil partner, or long-term partner in Spain. You can live, work, and eventually become a Spanish citizen. It's for people whose spouse is living in Spain (if you're from the EU, you have an easier process instead). The visa gives you the right to work without restrictions, access Spanish healthcare, and bring dependent children. You apply from your home country while your spouse in Spain helps prepare documents.

Eligibility & Requirements
Eligibility Criteria
- Must be 18 or older
- Must be legally married or in registered civil partnership (unmarried couples need 1+ year proof of living together)
- No serious criminal record in past 5 years
- No serious contagious diseases
- Your marriage must be genuine (not just for immigration)
- Your spouse must be Spanish citizen or have lived in Spain 1+ year
- Cannot be married to or partnered with anyone else
- No Spanish language requirement
Financial Requirement
Your spouse must earn at least €14,400 per year ($15,200). If you have children, add €3,600 per child. Proven with pay stubs, bank statements, and tax returns from past 3-6 months.
