About this Visa

This visa lets your non-EU family members move to France with you. You must be an EU, EEA, or Swiss citizen living in France. Your spouse, children, or dependent parents can join you without paying visa fees. This is one of the easiest family visas in Europe. You don't need a job offer or special skills. You just need to show you can support your family in France. Your family gets the same work rights you do. They can work any job without needing permission. They can also stay for 5 years on their first residence permit.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Be an EU, EEA, or Swiss citizen living in France
  • Have stable income or savings to support family
  • Have health insurance
  • Family member is spouse, children under 21, or dependent parent
  • Spouse must be at least 18 years old
  • No serious criminal record required
  • Family member cannot have broken French immigration laws
  • No language requirement yet, but A2-level French may be required starting January 1, 2026
