About this Visa

France offers two sports visas for athletes. The short-stay visa lets you compete or train for up to 90 days without advance planning. The long-stay visa (Passeport Talent) is for elite athletes who want to work in France for 1-4 years with a club or federation. Both visas let you enter France and Schengen countries to play sports. You don't need to be famous to qualify—you just need an invitation from a French sports organization or proof you're competing in an official event. The main difference: short-stay is quick and temporary; long-stay requires proving you're a recognized athlete and getting a job contract in France first.

Key Benefits

  • Travel freely across Schengen area (26 countries)
  • Work legally during event/training
  • Work anywhere in France (long-stay)
