About this Visa

This visa allows you to enter the UK to marry your British partner. You must marry within 6 months of your arrival. It is designed for couples who plan to live in the UK permanently after the wedding. You cannot work or study on this visa. After you marry, you must apply to switch to a Spouse Visa to stay longer. If you do not marry within 6 months, you must leave the UK.

Eligibility Criteria

  • You and your partner are 18 or older
  • Partner is a British citizen or settled person
  • You have met in person
  • You are in a genuine relationship
  • Intend to live together permanently
  • Meet the minimum income rule (£29,000/year)
  • Pass the English language requirement

Partner must earn £29,000 per year or use £88,500 in savings.
