About this Visa

The D2 visa lets professionals work in Georgia for activities like science, sports, art, teaching, and freelancing. You can stay in Georgia while doing your professional work. This visa is available to people from almost any country. You can do things like: conduct scientific research, play sports, perform art, teach classes, freelance online, intern, volunteer, or work as a journalist. The visa recognizes these as professional activities (not regular employment). IMPORTANT: Starting March 1, 2026, you'll need an additional work permit to do these activities. The D2 visa alone won't be enough. Plan ahead if you're applying now.
