About this Visa
The Family Reunification Residence Permit allows you to live in Hungary if your family member already lives there legally. It is for spouses, minor children, and dependent parents. It lets you join your family, travel freely in the Schengen zone, and eventually work. However, strict new rules started in 2024. You cannot apply if your family member in Hungary has a "Guest Worker," "Student," or "Digital Nomad" permit. Your sponsor must have a higher-level permit, like an EU Blue Card, Guest Investor status, or Permanent Residence.
