About this Visa

The Join Family Visa lets you move to Ireland to live with a family member who is already there. Your family member must be legally living in Ireland and have a job or status that allows them to sponsor you. This visa is for non-European people who want to reunite with family in Ireland. It's not for European Union or Swiss citizens—they have different, easier rules. Once approved, you can work, study, and access healthcare in Ireland just like other residents. Eligibility Criteria

  • Must be 18 or older
  • Have a family member legally living in Ireland who can sponsor you
  • No criminal record
  • No history of fraud or visa problems
  • Be a non-European citizen
  • Meet financial requirements - sponsor must earn enough
  • Have genuine family relationship, not fake
  • Have suitable housing in Ireland
  • Dependent adult children: must have serious medical/mental health condition making independent life impossible

Financial Requirement

If sponsor has regular employment permit: €30,000/year for one person, €44,300/year for one child, €54,200/year for two children, €64,200/year for three children. If sponsor has special permit (Critical Skills, Researcher, etc.): no minimum income required.
