About this Visa
This visa is for professional journalists who want to live and report in Japan. It is designed for staff reporters sent by foreign news agencies or freelancers with signed contracts. You cannot use this visa if you are just a YouTuber or a personal travel blogger. It allows you to live in Japan long-term to cover news stories and interviews. You can bring your family with you and renew the visa as long as you keep your job. It is a full residence status, not just a tourist pass.
