About this Visa
The F-6 visa is for foreign husbands and wives of South Korean citizens. It allows you to live in South Korea and work at any job you want. Unlike other visas, you do not need a company to sponsor you. It is the best option for building a life with your Korean spouse. This visa is designed for long-term residency. It also gives you a path to become a permanent resident or a Korean citizen later. You can even keep your original citizenship in many cases if you naturalize through marriage.

Eligibility & Requirements
Eligibility Criteria
- Legally married to a Korean national
- Korean spouse meets income threshold (~$16,500 USD)
- Clean criminal record (both parties)
- Passed medical exam
- No history of domestic violence (sponsor)
Financial Requirement
Korean spouse must earn approx. 23.6 million KRW ($16,500 USD) annually. Requirement waived if you have children together.
