About this Visa
This visa lets you join a family member who already lives in Latvia. You can bring your spouse, children, or parents. It's for people from outside the EU who want to live with their family in Latvia permanently. The visa gives you the right to stay, work, and live normally in Latvia. You're treated almost the same as Latvian residents for jobs, school, and healthcare. Family members include spouse, unmarried children under 18, dependent parents, and relatives up to third degree. Processing is straightforward for nuclear families but requires more documentation for extended relatives.

Eligibility Criteria
- Must be married couple or unmarried child under 18
- Must have family member already living legally in Latvia
- No serious criminal record
- Must pass tuberculosis and health tests
- Family member sponsor must have stable income of €740+/month
- Must provide genuine proof of family relationship
- Foreign documents must be officially certified (apostille)
Financial Requirement
Sponsor must earn €740/month ($870) minimum for first adult, €740 more per additional adult, €222 ($261) per child. Must demonstrate stable income for 6-12 months.
