About this Visa

This visa lets you move to Malaysia to start or run a tech business. You can get it if you have an innovative tech idea or an already-working tech company. It's one of the easiest ways for entrepreneurs to get long-term residence in Malaysia. The visa lets you work for yourself, bring your family, and stay for 1 to 5 years. You can renew it multiple times. Your spouse can work without needing a separate permit. What makes it special: No monthly income requirement. You just need RM 50,000 in the bank (about $12,230 USD). No minimum amount of time you must spend in Malaysia per year.

Eligibility & Requirements

Eligibility Criteria

  • Must be 18 or older with no maximum age limit
  • Have a tech business idea or already run a tech company
  • Were in business 2+ years for experienced option (new businesses get 1 year)
  • Show RM 50,000 in the bank - proof of financial stability
  • Have no criminal record - certificate from embassy proves this
  • Your business is in eligible tech sectors: AgriTech, HealthTech, Drones, Fintech, Smart Cities, Clean Energy, Cyber Security, Smart Transportation, AI, Blockchain, Big Data, IoT
  • Speak and write English - application must be in English
  • Are a tech founder, CEO, or investor - not a consultant or service provider
  • Not eligible for trading/reselling goods, manufacturing, software consulting, freelancing, or co-working spaces

Financial Requirement

RM 50,000 ($12,230 USD) in personal bank account. Show 3 months of bank statements as proof. Money can be in any bank, even outside Malaysia.
