The Mauritius Investor Occupation Permit lets you start a business in Mauritius and live there while working. You combine investment money with running a real business to qualify. This permit gives you the same rights as a local worker—you can do business freely in Mauritius or run international businesses from there.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Must have enough money to invest and support yourself
  • Must not have serious criminal convictions
  • Must be in good health (no infectious diseases)
  • Must pass medical tests done in Mauritius
  • Must have a realistic business plan
  • Must be willing to move to Mauritius for final approval steps

Financial Requirement

Must invest $50,000 or $100,000 in a Mauritian business. Must make MUR 1.5 million (about $32,600) in Year 1. Must make MUR 20 million total by Year 5. Must make MUR 5 million ($108,700) per year from Year 6 onwards.
