This visa lets you live and work in Mauritius as your own boss. You start a solo business (one person) and serve clients in Mauritius or abroad. It's designed for freelancers, consultants, and small business owners who want to move to Mauritius. You get a work visa and residence permit combined. Eligibility & Requirements
Eligibility Criteria
- Must be 18 years old or older
- Have work experience or qualifications matching your business
- Have a real business idea with actual interested clients
- Have $50,000 available to deposit
- Pass medical exams (no serious disease)
- No serious criminal record
- Can get 3 letters from clients (2 from Mauritius minimum)
- Plan to work alone (no partnerships)
- Offer services only (not manufacturing, retail, or restricted sectors)
Financial Requirement
Year 1: Business must earn at least 750,000 rupees per year (about $16,300 USD). Years 2-5: Same as Year 1. Total from all 5 years should reach 6 million rupees. Year 6+: At least 1,500,000 rupees per year to renew. You must file tax returns every year to prove your income.
