About this Visa

The Temporary Employment Pass (TEP) lets you work legally in Malaysia for certain manual labor jobs. Your Malaysian employer handles most of the paperwork and pays all the costs. You work in manufacturing, construction, farming, or services. No special education or skills required—just be willing to work and come from one of 15 approved countries. You get a colored ID card, health insurance, and legal protection at work. You cannot bring family, change employers easily, or work with customers. You can stay and work for up to 5 years. This visa is straightforward if your employer sponsors you. The hardest part is finding an employer willing to hire you. Once hired, the employer pays all fees and handles most paperwork.
