About this Visa
The Netherlands startup visa is for people from outside Europe who want to start a new business in the Netherlands. The government gives you one year to test your business idea with help from a mentor. You must have an innovative idea—something new that hasn't been done in the Netherlands before, uses new technology, or has a new way of working. The government checks your business plan to make sure it's real and worthwhile. This visa is different because you don't need a lot of money upfront. You just need enough to live for one year. And you must work with an approved business mentor the whole time—they help you and watch your progress.

Eligibility & Requirements
Eligibility Criteria
- Must be from outside EU/EEA/Switzerland
- Business idea must be innovative (new to Netherlands, new technology, or new organizational method)
- Must have €15,000–18,000 in savings
- Must work with approved business mentor
- No serious criminal record
- Must take active role in business (not passive ownership)
- Must register business in Netherlands
