About this Visa

This permit lets you study a hands-on vocational job in Norway. It's for students from outside Europe who want to learn trades or practical skills. You study full-time at an approved Norwegian vocational school for longer than 3 months. What makes it special: You can work part-time while studying. There's no nationality ban—anyone can apply. It's a real pathway to getting work after you finish.

Eligibility & Requirements

Eligibility Criteria

  • Must be accepted to full-time vocational program longer than 3 months
  • School must be NOKUT-approved
  • Must have sufficient funds ($1,502+ per month)
  • Cannot have serious criminal record
  • Must demonstrate intent to return home after studies
  • Must be studying on-site (no online-only programs)
  • Cannot study part-time
  • Cannot own or run a business

Financial Requirement

Minimum $1,502 per month (NOK 15,169) or $16,521 per year (NOK 166,859). Can be shown through bank accounts, student loans, grants, or parental support.
