About this Visa
This permit lets you move to Sweden to live with your boyfriend, girlfriend, or unmarried partner. Your partner must be a Swedish citizen or already living legally in Sweden. You don't have to be married—just committed to living together long-term. This is one of the main ways non-European people can move to Sweden for a relationship. You can work anywhere in Sweden without special permission, bring your children under 18, get Swedish healthcare, and apply for Swedish citizenship after 3 years. Your children get free public school. Important: You must have lived together for at least 6 months in your home country before applying. Your partner must earn enough money to support both of you. Processing takes about 13 months.
