About this Visa

The D visa lets non-EU people start a business in Slovenia. It's designed for entrepreneurs who want to establish a company and live there while building their business. You get a long-term entry permit (up to 1 year) to register your company and begin operations. After you meet business requirements, you can transition to a longer residence permit.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Must be 18 or older
  • No serious criminal record
  • Must show sufficient money to live in Slovenia (EUR 1,278+/month)
  • Must have viable business plan
  • Must have medical insurance (EUR 30,000+)
  • Cannot be from EU, EEA (Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein), or Switzerland
  • Your country must require a Schengen visa (most non-EU countries do)

Financial Requirement

You need EUR 30,000 (~$35,200) in medical insurance. You also need to show monthly income of EUR 1,278+ (~$1,500+) OR invest EUR 50,000 (~$58,700) in the company within 6 months. Show proof: bank statements (6 months), pay stubs, tax returns, or business documents.
