About this Visa
This visa lets you study at a Slovak university or research institution. It is for university students, master students, PhD researchers, and scholarship winners. You can stay in Slovakia for your entire study program (usually 3-5 years). The visa is for people who want to attend Slovak schools full-time. It is not for short courses or part-time study. The government welcomes students from all countries. After you graduate, you can stay 30 days to find a job. The visa counts toward permanent residency faster than other visa types.

Eligibility Criteria
- Accepted to Slovak university with official acceptance letter
- Full-time student status - must study as your main activity
- Age 15 or older (language students can be younger)
- No serious criminal record - minor violations acceptable
- Good health with no exotic diseases
- Proof of money - €4,500 per year from any source (family, job, scholarship, savings)
- Valid passport that is current
- Language ability to understand your program language (usually Slovak or English)
Financial Requirement
You need to prove you have at least €4,500 per year (about $5,300 USD) to live on. You can show bank statements from the last 3 months, a scholarship letter, a parent's confirmation letter with bank statements, or a job offer letter. Bank statements must be less than 90 days old when you apply.
