About this Visa
This visa lets you start and run a business in Taiwan. You get a residence permit and can stay for 2 years. It's designed for entrepreneurs with innovative ideas, not just people with lots of money. Anyone who has funding from investors, owns a patent, won a business award, or is part of an approved startup program can apply. You need to show you have an innovative business idea. You can establish a company, hire employees, and operate your business. You can bring your spouse and children with you. You don't need to leave Taiwan to renew your visa.

Eligibility & Requirements
Eligibility Criteria
- Must have one of 8 innovation proofs (investor funding, patent, award, etc.)
- Must secure NT$2 million in qualifying funding
- Must have valid passport
- No serious criminal record
- Not on Taiwan entry ban list (terrorists, human traffickers, major crime suspects)
- No specific age requirement
- No education level requirement
- No business experience requirement
- No language requirement (though Mandarin helpful for operations)
Financial Requirement
NT$2 million (~$63,800) from investors, government funding, or crowdfunding to obtain visa. To renew: minimum NT$3 million (~$95,600) annual revenue AND NT$1 million (~$31,900) annual operating expenses AND 3+ full-time Taiwanese employees.
