About this Visa
The Smart Visa (S) is for foreign entrepreneurs who have already set up a technology startup in Thailand. It allows you to live and work in the country to grow your business. You must be a founder or director in a specific high-tech industry, such as digital technology, robotics, or medical wellness. This visa is special because it acts as your work permit. You do not need to apply for a separate permit to work. It also lets you stay for long periods without frequent trips to the immigration office. NOTE: The "6-month" option for people with just a business idea (pitch deck) was discontinued in early 2025. You must now have a registered company to apply.

Eligibility & Requirements
Eligibility Criteria
- Must have a registered company in Thailand
- Hold at least 25% shares OR be a Director
- Business must be in a targeted S-Curve industry
- Company must be certified as a startup by a government agency
- Must have valid health insurance
- No criminal record
Financial Requirement
$17,650 USD (600,000 THB) held in a bank account for 3 months
