About this Visa

The DTV is Thailand's digital nomad visa. It's for remote workers, freelancers, and people taking courses (like Muay Thai or cooking) in Thailand. You can stay for up to 5 years and travel in and out as much as you want. You can work online for companies outside Thailand. You can bring your spouse and children with you. You cannot work for Thai companies or Thai clients. This visa is special because it's cheaper and easier than other long-term visas, and you get 5 years instead of just 1 year.

Eligibility & Requirements

Eligibility Criteria

  • Must be at least 20 years old
  • Have no criminal record
  • Have 500,000 Thai Baht (or equivalent) in your bank
  • Work for an overseas company (or be self-employed with international clients)
  • Have worked for last 6 months or own a business
  • Cannot work for a Thai company
  • Cannot work for Thai clients
  • Cannot work in Thailand at all (except remote work for overseas entities)

Financial Requirement

500,000 Thai Baht (~$15,875 USD) in your bank account. The money must be there for at least 3 months before you apply. After your visa is approved, you can withdraw the money. For each family member, you need another 500,000 Thai Baht.
