About this Visa
Taiwan's Entrepreneur Visa lets you start a business and live in Taiwan for 2 years. You need to invest NT$2 million (about $63,000 USD) or meet other business criteria. This visa is for startup founders, tech professionals with patents, creative professionals with awards, or people backed by investors. You don't need a job or business already set up—you can start one after you arrive. The big benefit: You can work for yourself, start your own company, and bring your family. You can also extend your stay and eventually get permanent residency or citizenship. This visa is different because you don't need to find a Taiwan employer. You're the boss. - Must be at least 18 years old
- Completed high school or equivalent education
- No serious criminal record
- Have investor backing of NT$2 million OR work in startup incubator for 1+ year OR hold invention patent OR have recognized professional credentials OR won major startup/design award OR have creative industry recognition OR own Taiwan business with NT$1M+ investment OR hold plant/animal registration rights
- No formal Mandarin Chinese requirement but documents must be in English or Mandarin
Financial Requirement
Individual applicants: NT$2 million (~$63,000 USD) from venture capital, government angel fund, government-approved crowdfunding platform, or NT$1 million if already running Taiwan business. Team applicants (up to 3 people): Combined NT$1 million (~$31,850 USD). Must prove funds exist with bank statements and investment agreements.
