About this Visa
This is the standard visa for foreign professionals who want to work and live in Taiwan. It is designed for "white-collar" workers, such as engineers, teachers, managers, and specialists. You must have a job offer from a Taiwanese company before you apply. Once approved, this visa lets you enter Taiwan to live and work. After you arrive, you get an Alien Resident Certificate (ARC), which serves as your official ID card. This path leads to long-term residency and potentially permanent residency after five years.
