About this Visa
This visa is for international students who want to learn Mandarin Chinese in Taiwan for more than six months. It allows you to live in Taiwan long-term while attending a government-approved language center. This is a conversion visa for most people. You usually cannot apply for it directly from home. You must enter Taiwan on a specific "Visitor Visa for Study," complete 4 months of classes with good attendance, and then upgrade to this Resident Visa inside Taiwan.

Eligibility Criteria
- Must be 18 years or older
- Must have high school diploma or higher
- Must have studied 4 months in Taiwan on Visitor Visa
- Must have good grades and <25% absence
- Must pass Type B health check
