About this Visa

The H-2A visa lets you work on farms and ranches in the United States temporarily. Your employer must hire you to do seasonal or temporary agricultural work like planting, harvesting, or raising livestock. You can only get this visa if your employer sponsors you and proves they cannot find American workers for the job. This is a work visa, not a path to permanent residency, though you can later apply for a green card if your employer sponsors you. Your employer pays most costs (visa fee, transportation, housing). You don't pay these expenses.
