About this Visa

The P-1 visa lets professional athletes and entertainers perform in the US for specific events, competitions, or tours. You can come for a sports tournament, concert tour, circus performance, or other major event. You qualify if you're known and successful in your sport or entertainment field in more than one country. This includes athletes on professional teams, individual competitors, and members of entertainment groups. Unlike work visas that are permanent, P-1 is temporary. You come for one specific event or tour, then you can renew if you have another event lined up.
