About this Visa
This visa lets you live in South Africa while working for a foreign company or international clients. You cannot work for any South African employer. It is designed for digital nomads, remote employees, and freelancers. The visa gives you legal permission to stay in South Africa for up to 3 years. You can renew it while you are in the country if you still qualify. It is different from the tourist visa because it allows you to work legally for longer periods. You must earn at least $39,000 per year from your foreign employer or international clients. The visa requires proof of foreign employment and extensive documents. Only about 24 people got this visa in the first 11 months because the application process is fairly complicated.
