About this Visa

This is a short-term work visa for people who need to do a specific job in South Africa for a few months. You can work as a technician, trainer, instructor, film crew member, or other specialist for up to 90 days. After that, you can get one 90-day extension if you need it. You cannot bring family members with you. This visa is different from permanent work visas because it is only for temporary jobs that cannot wait. You must work for a foreign company or organization, not work for yourself. The job must be something that needs to be done quickly and cannot be done by a South African worker. If your country requires a visa, you must apply at a South African embassy BEFORE you travel. If your country is visa-exempt, you can enter South Africa and apply for work permission at the airport, though it's better to apply before.
